What is a plate carrier and what does it do?
A plate carrier is a tactical vest built to hold hard armor plates over your chest and back, shielding your vital organs from rifle and handgun threats. Its MOLLE or laser-cut webbing also lets you carry magazines, a medical kit, comms, and other mission gear.
What plates fit Ace Link Armor plate carriers?
Our carriers take standard 10x12" hard armor plates, and the Quadrelease Ultra 2.0, React Ultra, and Skeletac models also fit larger 11x14" plates. Pair any carrier with our Level III, III+, or IV plates for full rifle protection, or Level IIIA soft armor for handgun coverage.
How do I set up a plate carrier?
Insert your front and back plates with the strike face outward, then adjust the shoulder straps so the top of the plate sits at the sternal notch. Tighten the cummerbund snug but not restrictive, then do a few burpees to confirm the plates stay centered.
How do I choose the right plate carrier size?
Sizing depends on plate cut and torso measurements, not your clothing size. Measure your chest circumference and match it to each carrier's size guide, and confirm the plate size (10x12" vs 11x14") the carrier is rated to hold.
Are plate carriers legal to own?
Plate carriers and body armor are legal to buy and own for most civilians across the US. A handful of states and cities have restrictions, so check your local laws before ordering.
What are your shipping and return policies?
In-stock carriers ship from our US warehouse within 1-3 business days, with tracking emailed once your order leaves. Unused, unworn gear in original packaging can be returned within 30 days for a refund or exchange.
What's the difference between your plate carrier models?
The React and React Ultra are slick, low-profile carriers for concealment and minimalist setups. The Quadrelease 2.0 and Quadrelease Ultra 2.0 add quick-release tactical features, the Skeletac is an ultra-light Kydex build, and the Noble 4.0 is a fully modular base. React and Quadrelease 2.0 fit 10x12 plates, while the Ultra and Skeletac models fit up to 11x14.
Do your plate carriers come with armor plates?
Carriers are sold on their own so you can pair them with the protection level you need. If you want a complete setup, our body armor bundles combine a carrier with Level III, III+, IV, or IIIA soft armor at a package discount.
What is a quick-release plate carrier?
A quick-release carrier, like our Quadrelease line, lets you shed the entire rig by pulling a single tab. It speeds up medical access to the chest and lets you ditch the carrier fast in water or other emergencies.
What accessories can I add to my plate carrier?
Our carriers use MOLLE or laser-cut webbing, so you can mount magazine pouches, an IFAK, comms, admin panels, and placards. Most also accept 6x6 or 6x8 side plates and soft armor inserts in the cummerbund.
Can I wear a plate carrier concealed?
Yes. Our slick carriers like the React sit low enough to wear under a jacket or loose outerwear. Hard plates are rigid and print more than soft armor, so a looser top layer conceals them best.
How do I clean and store my plate carrier?
Spot clean the nylon with mild soap and water, then air dry away from direct sunlight, and never machine wash or tumble dry. Store the carrier flat or hanging with the plates removed to keep its shape and webbing intact.
